Hyatt Points Are Now the Best Rewards for All-Inclusive Hotels

Using credit card rewards for an all-inclusive hotel stay is the closest you can come to a completely free vacation.

The problem is that no hotel chain has offered a wide variety of all-inclusive resorts to choose from. Brands like Hyatt, Marriott, and Hilton have each offered only a handful of (often underwhelming) resorts to choose from.

That’s no longer the case. Hyatt is now the clear winner for anyone looking for an all-inclusive experience, having added more than 100 properties after absorbing travel and hospitality company Apple Leisure Group in 2021. On April 4, 2022, Hyatt officially began to make these hotels bookable with points.

Here are the latest hotels you can book with Hyatt points — and the number of points you’ll need to do it.

You can now book more all-inclusive resorts with Hyatt points

You might be familiar with Hyatt’s popular all-inclusive properties such as the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, Alila Ventana Big Sur, and Miraval Arizona. For years, Hyatt has offered quality all-inclusives — there just haven’t been many to choose from.

Hyatt is busily remedying this problem. Effective immediately, you can book six new hotels with points — and dozens more are coming in Q2 of 2022.

Hyatt has created a new award chart specifically for all-inclusive hotels. Here’s what that looks like (prices are for double occupancy).

These awards top out at a price significantly higher than any other Hyatt hotel (with the exception of Miraval hotels, which charge up to 72,000 points for double occupancy in a standard room).

Here are the hotels you can newly book with Hyatt points:

Insider estimates that Hyatt points are worth 1.5 cents each, on average. Many of these hotels offer significantly outsized value for your points. For example, standard rates at the Dreams Playa Mujeres Golf & Spa Resort are 25,000 points per night. However, this hotel can cost $700+ per night — giving you a value of 2.8 cents per point.

These hotels are located in Mexico. By May 9, 2022, you’ll have 52 more properties to choose from, all located in the Americas. And Hyatt will later open award availability to all-inclusive resorts located in Europe.

Earning Hyatt points is easy with credit cards

Hyatt points are some of the easiest rewards to earn thanks to the large number of credit cards that earn Hyatt points.

First, Hyatt offers two cobranded Chase credit cards:

You can also earn Hyatt points by transferring Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio. This means any Chase Ultimate Rewards-earning cards are effectively Hyatt points-earning cards:

Also, if you have one of the above three Ultimate Rewards cards, you can combine the rewards you earn with any of the below no-annual-fee Chase credit cards, then transfer them to Hyatt at a 1:1 ratio:
