Airport travel–the new frontier

I think we have all heard horror stories about air journey these days, and often you earn, and at times you reduce.  Our Arkansas gardener travelers experienced a mixed bag this journey.  

On the way up to Maine, an early (7 am departure) experienced us at the airport at 5 a.m. with some leaving their houses as early as 1:30 a.m. (we have tourists from all about the point out on our outings).  We experienced a slight delay which slice our relationship in Charlotte limited (44 minutes).  We landed at the farthest close of A terminal and departed at the farthest conclusion of E terminal–a 35-moment jog.  We all designed it and we smugly rolled into Maine on a substantial.  Two of our other tourists who did their have air had been not as lucky and ended up arriving in Bar Harbor at 1 a.m.  We were being pleased that was not us. . . 

Rapid ahead to Friday.  Our scheduled departure of 4 pm from Portland kept obtaining delayed, delayed and delayed.

 We were being a little bit fearful about our relationship in Charlotte but the airline agent in Portland came and reported: Tiny Rock team, will not stress, they will maintain the relationship.  Again, we were happy.  

We at last took off and arrived in Charlotte about 10 pm but our connection there received delayed some additional.  We also improved terminals 4 moments.  During a single of those people alterations, some other tourists did not hear and put a wheelchair on one particular of the rolling men and women movers and brought on a log jam with some of our tourists about to collide.  Luckily, Mike pushed the quit button and we survived with a couple of hurt toes only–it could have been a great deal even worse. 

At midnight, we at last boarded our airplane and we were happy that house was just a short distance absent, or so we imagined.  After sitting on the plane for an hour with a computer glitch that required correcting, our pilot timed out and we experienced to unload for a cancelled flight. It was now 1 a.m.  I had everyone sit even though I started out the arduous undertaking of obtaining 32 tourists rebooked on one more flight.  We also identified as around seeking for accommodations, but needing 20 rooms there was not anything to opt for from, and all the vouchers for the evening were now long gone from the airlines.  We received to spend the night in chairs, freezing in the airport. We also acquired meals vouchers, but fifty percent labored, and half did not.   I got us all on a flight at 8:50 p.m. afterwards that evening, but we even now needed boarding passes and someplace to snooze. I was informed to appear back again at 6 a.m. for boarding passes, and 10 for hotel vouchers.  I received each achieved by 9:30.  Several of us also discovered the new moment suites, little rooms (Shoeboxes as Clay calls them)

to snooze in by the hour, and billed by the hour.  12 of us slept for various hrs in those.  I received the rest of us vouchers at the Airport Sheraton wherever they slept and showered.  We all reconvened at 6 p.m. Our gate did not adjust this time, but our flight did get delayed, to start with by 10 minutes, then an hour. Our plane lastly arrived. 

We ended up now waiting on pilots, then flight crews.  We inevitably received both equally and took off at 10:30 p.m. with an arrival in LR at 11 pm central time.  We arrived on time, but then waited 20 minutes for personnel to satisfy the aircraft to direct it in.  Then we waited even more time for our luggage.

All full, we were being at the airport for a solid hour soon after we landed.  I received household at 12:30 a.m. and in mattress a bit in advance of 1, but I was house and in my possess mattress.   We had various solo flyers who produced it with no difficulties.  

In spite of the complications, we all have a slew of new tales to convey to, and we are all comrades in arms.  I also want to thank all our tourists for conference this adversity with grace and humor–no just one was content with the predicament, but all people manufactured the greatest of it, and aided each and every other out.  That is why I adore touring with Arkansas gardeners!  if you have to have any tips about the Charlotte airport, just request.
